I have taught financial literacy workshops for years, helping everyday people take control of their finances. Plain language instruction is my specialty.
A few years into exploring AI tools for my consulting work, I started noticing something. Every time I mentioned ChatGPT or Claude at a dinner, a family event, or a business workshop, the same thing happened. Someone's face would go blank. They'd say "I've heard of that but I don't really get it." Or worse — "That's not really for someone like me."
And these were not people who lacked intelligence. These were entrepreneurs. Professionals. Parents. People who had built careers, raised families, and navigated decades of change. They were not intimidated by hard things. They were just intimidated by this one thing — and nobody had taken the time to explain it in a way that respected both their intelligence and their starting point.
I am not an AI researcher. I am not a software engineer. I am someone who was curious enough to dig in, figure it out, and then turn around to make sure the people I care about did not get left behind.
That is my entire job here. To translate. To simplify. To make sure that no matter where you are starting from, you have everything you need to use this technology confidently, safely, and on your own terms.
